​AHEALON® Saves Infected Finger from Amputation

Jerry is a professional contractor who works with his hands.  ​During the course of his work, he sustained a staph infection on his right ring finger, which developed into ​osteomyelitis (an infection that goes into the bone).  Treatment included: intravenous antibiotics, scraping the bone on his finger and removing tissue.  However this staph infection traveled to his hip, which necessitated the bone there also being scraped.  Jerry was in near mortal danger of this infection reaching his spine, which could have resulted in paralysis or his death.  Jerry for the next 3 months was given intravenous antibiotics through a PICC.

When this PICC was removed after 3 months of continuous use, AHEALON® was introduced to Jerry to treat a skin infection that developed in and around where the PICC line had been removed from his arm.  Within a week this infection completely cleared.  

​

Patients who suffer from osteomyelitis are generally always prone to future infections, particularly in their extremities.  Six months after the PICC was removed, Jerry received a cut at work to the index finger of his left land (he is left handed).  This finger became inflamed and enlarged with his doctor fearing the onset another staph infection that could result in osteomyelitis​ again.

His doctor could not scrape the bone in his finger this time because the cut and ensuing infection was on and within the major knuckle. 

​

If this staph infection could not be kept under control, his doctor's only recourse would be amputation, which would have devastated Jerry's livelihood, because he would not be able to resume his type of meticulous work for many years, if at all.  Upon hearing this potentially devastating news, Jerry believed that that since AHEALON® had worked very quickly for him once before, AHEALON® might again be used to possibly save his finger - and it did.

Jerry soaked his infected finger in a warm cup of AHEALON® to which was added one teaspoon of Himalayan sea salt.  He did this three times a day, for 20 minutes each time. ​ After 7 days, his finger was completely healed.

​​Jerry stated that his doctor was very surprised to find that his index finger was not only no longer infected, but that the time interval for his infection healing process occurred in such a short period of time - just 7 days.
